Surrounded by Water…
Moving to Colorado from the East Coast has been one of the best decisions of my life. But having come from Boston I tend to find myself missing the delights of living alongside the ocean. This weekend we took a whirlwind trip to Seattle. It’s the first time I’ve ever been and I think I’m in love!
We lucked out with lots of sunshine which made the beautiful city even more charming. Delicious seafood, fascinating sights, and gorgeous waterfront are bountiful here. I indulged in just about every type of edible ocean creature I could get my hands on and it was fantastic! This landlubber was psyched to nosh on crab, salmon, oysters, geoduck, tuna, scallops, clams, sushi, and shrimp. We also took the ferry to one of the islands for a bbq at a friend’s ranch!
The mix of cultures, history, and scenic landscapes could take weeks to experience in full, but I had to stuff as much as I could into just over 48 hours. I got enough of a taste to know that there are many things I’d like to experience in more depth, which is an excellent excuse to come back as soon as I can. Here are the first few photos that caught my eye when I started downloading cards - there are more to come!
A view of the Public Market
A dramatic shot of Post Alley that I thought was kind of nifty.
The Gum Wall is Post Alley… kind of gross, but really cool
Yummmm! Everything was so fresh and so pretty!
My first seafood meal while in Seattle, delicious oysters on the half shell at a waterfront fish bar!
