Words for Tomorrow

The airport won’t let me upload photos today. So inspired by my Dad, who’s a really wonderful person and encourages me to do things I love without fear, here are some words I wrote the day I left Denver…

In the rearview
cranes lording over shells.
Flanked by exoskeletons and bordered,
at great distance,
by shadowy crags dusted white
reaching the sky.

Denver fades.
My mind whet with expectations,
ninety times potential.
Each one breaking upon the horizon
with the bright possibility
of not knowing.

Thank you, Dad. (HSLS)
