It’s been an eventful series of days. I haven’t posted in a while and I should have a lot to say, but really none of it requires a telling.
Birthday came and went, lots of well wishes from various wonderful friends in the far reaches of the east coast. Mom and Dad came and we had a lovely and very full weekend of sight seeing here in Colorado. Brewery tour, Shack Bus History Tour of Boulder, scenic mountain exploration, various delicious meals at home and out and some shopping.
We also took a trip to the gallery to see my photos. The exhibition is pretty impressive, if for no other reason than the unifying theme of healing. All of the featured artists are women who have enacted some form of healing through their art, many tell stories of deaths and trauma, a lot have survived cancer, miscarraiges, brain tumors, and varied illnesses. My photos were taken during the time that three of my four living grandparents were undergoing treatments for cancer. Two of them died within a week of each other their bodies quickly being taken over. The change was swift and unnerving. The photographs capture an intense array of emotion, but consist very simply of my paternal grandparents’ hands. Mom and Dad both got teary eyed.
Colorado is treating me well. All can be assured of this by my parents who have seen it in person. Also for my birthday I was given an exciting present from Sean the Enterprise representative who hooked us up with a sweet ride for the weekend. Check it out. And yes we took it 4-wheeling.
