So APARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
IT is a VERY PRETTY PLACE 🙂 4 bedrooms, 2 floors the second and third of a victorian house, 2 bathrooms, one with jacuzzi bathtub, 2 living/common rooms, beautiful eat in kitchen with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher and built in microwave, marble fireplace that is electric/gas so it works on a switch, hard wood floors, cieling fans, lots of beautiful lighting, laundry room with washer and dryer in unit, front porch, tiny back yard shared with first floor unit that we hope to put a hammock in, shed in back that we plan to use for storing bikes, etc., lots of on street parking no permit required, less than a 1/4 mile from Savin Hill T stop on the red line, about a five minute walk.
Two rooms available. One for 600$ roughly 13×14 with good closet space, Second room is about 10×11 @ 550$ per month has no closet but a warddrobe is provided by the owners and its right off the common room which is where you could put desk or wardrobe or whatever.
I and my friend Dave are the two people who are living there so far. We are planning on getting DSL and cable so those would be monthly costs along with electric and gas, split four ways. And to secure the apt you only need to put down 1st and last months rent.
The neighborhood is in Dorchester. Savin Hill is one stop after JFK on the Ashmont redline. I’ve been back and forth from there by car and by T. Its a little ways right off 93 by two different exits and a short safe walk from the T through a very residential area. I’ve been in the neighborhood late at night and during the day, feeling safe at both times. There are many families of mixed race and income. Its a really diverse community with a lot of houses that are being beautifully remodeled. Restaurants, drugstore, bars, dry cleaners, convenience stores and the beach are all within walking distance. The beach is a 15 minute stroll away.
