Inspiration can come from a myriad of places. Normally I look for it on photography sites and in magazines. Today I was charged with researching the dreaded medium of PowerPoint and came across a whole host of people who are trying to remedy what Seth Godin coins “Really Bad PowerPoint”. Here are a few quick links and excerpts that were especially interesting to me.
From Seth Godin’s Post Today: “If you have to compromise what you do just to keep doing it, what’s the point?” Read his post and think about it. For those of us pursuing our dream careers it really makes you stop for a moment and contemplate.
From the brilliant and talented photographer Jesh de Rox: Take a moment to read this post in which he starts, “there is something truly powerful about inner expression”. Jesh is amazingly in the moment when it comes to living life fully. It seems as if he’s ever present, full of emotion and creativity. Not only are his words beautiful, but his photography is artful and evocative.
From Jessica Hagy’s new book “Indexed”:
Jessica’s blog is exclusively filled with ingenious drawings like this one. She even has a book out now. Her work in and of itself is inspiring, plus she’s clearly notable for it.
Which brings me to this, an interesting little diagram, but more interesting post about creating a fan base that allows you to maintain your business/art/whatever.
And finally from Garr Reynold’s post, “Inspiration Matters”:
In Sum
(1) Never apologize for your enthusiasm, passion, or vision.
(2) Never apologize for being inspired by another human being.
(3) Seek out inspiration (don’t wait for it).
(4) Inspire others by sharing your talents and time.
(5) And no matter what: Don’t let the bozos grind you down, ever.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the moment & don’t forget to SLOW DOWN! (Thanks Andrew for your post, I really enjoyed it and I really did take a walk after I read it!)
