Seems to be that all my posts reference my Dad right now… which I guess is fitting since he celebrated both Father’s Day and his birthday in June! Today I’m showing off some of the amazing photos he takes when he visits air shows. He’s an avid air-show-goer. I don’t really know the term for it, but he loves metal “birds”. He sent these to me in an email last night and I just can’t help but want to share them with the world. Now you know where I got my mad photo skills from – it runs in the family!
I love these candid crowd shots, they remind me of Gary Winnogrand’s work, but here we replace women with kids.

So I know nothing about airplanes/jets/whatever, but I’m pretty sure this is three planes in a killer formation. Rock on Dad!

In the brief period of time where I tolerated going to stand on hot tarmac and look straight into the blinding sun at these noisy things I did favor the Blue Angels. I can admit to these pilots being pretty darn talented.
