Its funny how halloween is really just a splendid time of year for realizing societies truly sexual nature. I won’t go into some sort of philosophical rant, because well, its hardly philosophical first of all, but mostly because I’m not that impassioned. But I know I use this time of year as an opportunity to sport vinyl ad pleater and things I normally wouldn’t. (Or would i?) Because its acceptable now and it isn’t the rest of the year.
Well the long and short of it is that I went to the FNX Lingerie Ball last night, I had a decent time. But I thought a lot about the way in which I dressed verse others, peoples motivations for being there, and their actions. People were generally scantilly clad. Mostly the chicks. Some boys sported only boxers, one or two were parading about in a thong. That was gross. But the girls… ranged from… women in thongs and those fishnet body suits (no bra) so girls in fuzzy PJ’s with pig tails. But I saw women on stage kissing each other, touching each other, sucking one anothers nipples… all sorts of public acts of sexuality that we consider inappropriate day in and out. All this is obvious. I just think its a hint of the extent to which we supress ourselves on a daily basis. And thats just not cool man.
Its halloween. I’m a punk rock girl today at the elementary school and tonight at work. The kids have been freaking out about my lip ring all day. It scares them. Which I think is really funny. Some of the smaller ones are scared to talk to me. Not that I think I look all that scary, but I guess when you’re 5 and the normally jean and Tshirt clad blond teacher is now sporting all sorts of studded leather, pink hair, a lot of eye makeup, safety pins and multiple piercings… well I guess its a little confusing.
I’ll be a cowgirl later tonight for our trip to Salem. Should be fun. Lots of pleather (not school appropriate, hence two costumes) sparkle cowboy hat and a pink cap gun. I feel like I mentioned this in a previous post. Weee!
Yeah. So tattoo tomorrow. I hope.
