I know that I’m lucky to photograph weddings. Being invited to witness and capture peoples lives’ and most intimate moments is one of the reasons I do what I do. Yet somehow, I’ve never been asked to photograph an elopement until recently! I had the most incredible experience photographing Andria & Tim’s guerrilla wedding ceremony at the Denver Science Museum. Not just because making these photos was really freaking fun, but because witnessing such a true and right expression of love between two people is a beautiful thing. Andria & Tim, surrounded by a small group of family members, myself, and Drew, went to the museum on a lovely Friday afternoon. They headed first for the exhibit halls to take photos and then to the atrium overlooking Denver’s City Park where they exchanged impromptu vows. The energy of this day was palpable, Andria and Tim are shy people, but they radiated with joy and excitement. And they were kind to a fault, warm and funny, sharing jokes with Drew and I, searching out the secret exhibit elves and collaborating to make these awesome images. Congrats Andria & Tim! This was such an inspiring wedding for Drew and I, we adored being part of it!
