Gabyco: A Rowe Family Reunion

My family is incredibly important to me. We are flawed, as families are, but we share an undeniable bond. History, blood, generations, unconditional love. These are the hallmarks of family and for that I am lucky.

I took some time off from wedding season to travel to Ohio, roughly half way between the majority if us, for Gabyco. Also known as Great American Back Yard Camp Out, or The Semi-Annual Rowe Family Reunion. And of course, there are photos.

Our family really likes word games. Well some of us do. So we play a lot of “Take Two”, which is a little like speed scrabble. And we also had a PUN competition on Sunday, aka Punday. My Aunt Elizabeth, a grade school teacher and master Scrabble player, was the winner.

My (2nd?) cousin Nathan, above, and his sister Anna, below are two of the cutest kids around.

Deuce got to make an appearance. Not only is he sweet as pie, but he gives Anna lots of kisses, which she returns dutifully.

My grandfather, George Rowe, is a firefighter and former captain. He is also a Quaker, school founder, former headmaster, teacher and wonderful human being worth knowing!

My beautiful, talented, amazing cousins Kate & Lindsay.

Below, three (four?)  generations from left to right. My nephew, his grandfather and his great grandfather enjoying some bubble blowing.

Mom and I took on the giant bouncy pillow. It was fantastic!

Above, we blew up as many balloons as we could to decorate my Aunt’s cabin for her birthday. Below, my nephew Kyle passed out on the floor on our last night at camp. All that fun takes a lot out of a kid!
