I went to the most amazing wedding this weekend.
The families came from all over the country and across the Atlantic Ocean to lend their support and bear witness, staying on the grounds of a beautiful farm in Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod together. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of Episcopalian religious service, emotional music selections, nods to Quakerism and unique personal details. Family and friends gave testimony to the love and support the couple offered each other and the journey that brought them to this place. Everyone celebrated their relationship. They said, “These two people bring life, love and warmth into a room”. Tears of happiness streamed down laughing cheeks as beautiful toasts were given in honor of the newlyweds.
It was beautiful.
This weekend I photographed the wedding of two lovely women who are married legally in the eyes of god and the state, supported by the people who love them in a gorgeous ceremony and celebration.
Just the way it should be.
