Sara + Jared – Denver Engagement Session

Inspiration can come from the strangest places. I recently met the very lovely and talented Kimberly Mitiska who will be sharpening her skills shooting with me this summer. Kimberly mentioned “the Alice in Wonderland Park” and I had to know more. Drew and I visited the park for some of our geeky hobby, but I was totally struck by the giant industrial park surrounding the sculpture garden and I knew I had to do a shoot there!

Enter Sara and Jared. Self proclaimed “awkward photo takers”, who said they were up for anything I suggested. Fortunately for me that included getting engagement photos taken in an area of town that Sara used to work in and consequently kind of hates. I’m so thankful for Sara and Jared’s complete trust in me, without which we would not have made these images. Which 1) Turned out really cool and 2)Prove that Sara and Jared are more model material than they ever suggested 🙂

  1. Love your use of texture in these photos -particularly the blue sky as reflected in the square office building windows, and the rippled water shadows. Even though I’m never getting engaged nor married (or have any babies), more and more I kind of want you to visit Boston and take photos of me! ;^)

(And congrats to the lovely couple above.)

Awww thanks so much Pho! I so appreciate you stopping by! I wish I was going to be in Boston more this summer, BUT I will be in the area (on the Cape) next May over Memorial Day for a wedding. We could always figure something out 🙂

(Surprisingly I agree on all fronts about the engaged/married/babies thing, despite how much I adore documenting those thing for others!)

  3. Kristy – Next May/Cape, I’ll keep that in mind! Perhaps the boy and I should get some photos commemorating our 10th anniversary (though, by that point we’ll be into our 11th.)
