Untitled – A Photographic History of Semi Recent Events

2003-ish – Funny now. This particular piece of performance involves brides.

In scary movies someone always says, “Don’t look back”. But as a photographer, that’s pretty much my every day. And since photography has always been something I’ve done, I’ve always been looking back. I don’t live in the past, but I love looking back. I love to see how my life has changed. How myself and the people around me have evolved.

2003ish – Black and White photos of dance performances shot on 35mm film.

I never want to forget where I came from.

2003 ish – This dance performance, choreographed by an old friend, depicted struggles of being a woman.

So today, rather unwittingly, I found myself in the past. Looking back at events when I was on the verge.

2004-ish – A trip to Las Vegas. Me literally on the verge. Camera on my back. As ever.

I was 24ish. I had graduated college and was holding down a myriad of menial jobs, barely making ends meet. I had no idea what I wanted. I was living with my ex… While we were exes. I wasn’t exactly proud of myself. Things had to change, but I was penniless and clueless. And then I moved to Colorado…

2005 – Driving the Diagonal Highway, seeing Boulder for the very first time after a week in the car and not once visiting Colorado in my life.
