Fearless Love

David Wilcox, who is predominantly a Christian folk artist, has some really wonderful music. It’s not usually in my character to listen to music with religious messages, but in the case of David Wilcox I make an exception. His music isn’t really about god, praying or going to church, it’s about living your life as best you can and realizing every moment for all its worth. He’s a remarkable story teller and his words always seem to find their way into my mind.

This past weekend I saw a good friend of mine from my old job who is now living in California. She is a wonderful woman raising a new baby son all on her own. I wanted to post some photos I took during our visit and the first words that came to mind are the title of a David Wilcox song. “Fearless Love” is a song about overcoming our perceptions of the world and coming to terms with that fact that we’re all just human beings. Here are the last few lines of the song:

Oh yes the high religious still will scorn
Just like that did all that time back
They’ll say you helped the other side
They saw you haul that soldier’s pack
But now how could you carry that man’s sign
In your heart the choice was clear
You didn’t join the other side
The battle lines just disappeared

(If you’re interested in checking out his music, give this album a shot it’s his most widely palatable album for non-religious and non-folk loving listeners!)

Little Things...

Wonder

Here’s to living life fearlessly and embracing it with love!
